Moveable bulkhead

A repositionable partition inside a temperature-controlled trailer that divides it into compartments, letting the split between frozen, chilled, and ambient be reconfigured trip to trip.

Also: Movable bulkhead, Moveable bulkheads

A moveable bulkhead is a repositionable internal partition in a multi-temperature trailer that divides the load space into separately controlled compartments — typically frozen, chilled, and ambient. Because the bulkhead moves, the proportion of the trailer given to each temperature is not fixed: it is set to suit each round’s order mix. That makes the trailer’s effective capacity for any one temperature a planning variable rather than a constant, which is why Optrak’s 2D loader sizes each compartment to the orders and checks that the cages and pallets physically fit alongside each other on the floor.
